Actress Sonali Bendre will be seen in her next The Broken News 2 on Zee alongside Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaydeep Ahlawat. The movie is all set to release on May 3, 2024. While the actress is busy promoting her film, she also shared insights from the industry. Sonali revealed how producers asked her to fatten up at that time and she was termed as too skinny. The Hum Saath Saath Hai actress recollects being body shamed by producers of 90s.

In an interview with Hauterrfly Sonali said, “They would just tell me to ‘eat, eat, eat you’re too skinny.’ They wanted curves.” She revealed facing rejections because of her skinny figure.

While in an another interview with News 18, Bendre spoke about the fake link-up rumours. She revealed a time when such decisions were made without consultation. This would leave the actors at the mercy of media speculation for promotional purposes. She said, “These days, actors are at least asked if they would want link-up rumours with their co-stars to be floated around. During my time, we weren’t even asked and those gossips would just be out there to promote the film and the actors had no choice.”

Despite, the challenges she faced, she remains resilient. As she gears up for her role in The Broken News 2, she reflects on the evolving landscape of entertainment.
